Today, I want to exhort you on the need to join and steadfastly continue in prayer and intercession. I believe with all my heart that private prayer releases great power alright, but coming together to stand with one another in our homes and in church to pray and interceed releases great power.
(Acts 4:23-37 KJV) “:And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.”
“And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness. And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common. And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.”
“Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.”
In the text we read, we see how the apostles after their release from prison and being threatened not to preach in the name of Jesus returned to their own company. They returned to the church when the devil sent threats. They gathered together in the church and shared their battles, and the church prayed. If we can bear one another’s burden and stand with them in prayer, great blessings shall be released upon the church.
I see how prayer works and releases great power into our lives. Prayer is our connection to power and solutions. When the church prays great power is made available to the missionaries. Every church must learn the secret of praying for their pastor and missionaries. These men and women fight battles you are not aware of. They are usually faced with many attacks and threats. I encourage you to pray for your pastors.
When we pray together and pray for our pastors; five great things happen. We can see it in the text. When they gathered to pray together as we do from time to time, there was;
1. A fresh outpouring of the Holy Ghost:
The Holy Spirit poured on them afresh. As we stand hand in hand in prayer, we are receiving a fresh outpouring of the Holy Ghost. And as the holy spirit comes upon us, He leads us, teaches, guides and empowers. This same spirit lifts up a standard against any attack of darkness.
2. Mighty manifestations:
As we learn to gather more and more for prayer, there would be something more than just an outpouring of the Holy Ghost, there shall be mighty manifestations among us. After they prayed, the place shook. They saw the mighty hand of God that night. I pray that as we gather together to pray and fellowship, may the mighty acts of God begin to work in our lives. May we walk in His mighty power. Indeed when God begins to manifest His power in a great way among us, it will give us boldness to witness in our neighbourhood.
3. Fresh boldness and zeal upon the church:
Praying together releases fresh boldness and zeal. I pray for the release of miracles, healings, deliverances and mighty manifestations among us; in church, at home and even in the streets. I pray for fresh boldness; boldness and zeal to declare the works of the Lord and His truth among many nations. These are the results of praying and praying together.
4. Great grace upon them all:
The fourth result of corporate prayers or praying together is the release of great grace. The Bible says that the apostle preached with great power and great grace was upon them all. Receive great grace! Remember when great grace comes upon the church we will get better results with less effort. Your potential will be released and fully manifested. That great grace will manifest and show on you. The glory of God will manifest in your life, and you shall walk in great power. I pray for great grace upon the church.
5. Supernatural supply through selfless giving:
The results of grace are always prosperity, health, and supernatural supply. None had lack, God visited them through the giving of others. God will visit us. The Lord will send helpers. The Lord will connect many of us to destiny helpers. Your needs will be met supernaturally. None shall lack.
This is the dawn of a new day; our waiting and prayer shall not be in vain. The Lord will take you far. The Lord will take you very far. Just continue steadfastly in the fellowship and prayers, and see God work things out for you in the name of Jesus Christ.
Our churches will grow; the Lord shall add unto us. We will prosper. The Lord will reward our missionaries around the world. Be strong and be encouraged to press on.
Stay blessed; I love you!
