Acts 19:15 – Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
Spiritual authority comes from spiritual mass. In Acts 19, evil spirits acknowledged Jesus and Paul because they carried weight in the Spirit. But when others tried to imitate them without that weight, they were overpowered. Authority in the Spirit is not in titles or outward display; it is in the weight of intimacy and fellowship with God. The more weight you carry, the more heaven backs your words and the more impact your prayers have.
Authority is cultivated through intimacy. When you carry mass, you do not just speak empty words, you release power because your words are backed by God’s presence. That is why Elijah could command the heavens to withhold rain, and it obeyed. He had weight before God. If we want to gather spiritual momentum, we must focus on building authority through depth. When we do, even in prayer, our words carry influence in both the spiritual and natural realms.
Prayer:
Lord, help me to carry weight in the Spirit that my words and prayers may carry authority.
Reflection:
1. What is the difference between authority based on position and authority based on intimacy with God?
2. How can you grow into a believer whose words carry authority?
3. Do you think spiritual authority is visible to others? Why or why not?
