You Must be Dead to Sin and Alive unto God

In today’s devotional, we shall examine the essential keys that are able to transform us and makes us dead to sin and alive to God.

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:10-11)

Today’s Bible Reading:

Romans 6:1-23

We know that being a Christian is being Christ-like. It is a call to die once to sin and be alive to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. It’s a call to allow Christ to live His life through you.

It’s important to understand that God would never demand a change that He would not be fully present to initiate and execute (See Jude 1:24). His grace is sufficient for us to live to the max, Praise the Lord!

Now remember that sin kills, it brings reproach, it maims and eventually leads to eternal domination. The wages of sin is death (See Roman 3:23)

The simple secrets to being dead to sin and alive to God are summed up in the acronym A-L-I-V-E;

1. Accept the sacrifice of Christ on the cross
2. Love God and people passionately
3. Invest in your personal maturity
4. Volunteer your members as instruments of right-doing
5. Engage in spiritual warfare

These are the five simple secrets to holiness, righteousness, and purity. There is no other way to make it work.

I speak over your life, that as you accept the finished work of Christ on the cross, He shall make available unto you the power to live as sons and daughters of God!

Prayer

Dear Father

Please continue to teach and empowerment me to live with this truth! Keep me covered under the precious blood of Jesus. May all evil powers be crushed because of me. I shall be alive to God, dead to sin. And I will show other transgressors the way to life, Amen!

Confessions

I receive power! I receive grace and favour! I take charge! I walk in dominion! In the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
