Desire Spiritual Gifts

[1 Corinthians 14:1 KJV] “Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy”

If there is one thing that the Scriptures encourages the child of God to desire, it is the gifts of the spirit. These are gifts that pertain to the realm of the supernatural. These are graces that belong to the higher realm of the supernatural. These are gifts of the Spirits that help us to operate in a higher realm.

Those who receive gifts of the Spirit are protected from turning back to walk after dumb idols. The Bible reveals how many of us walk after dumb idols when we were unsaved; but if we receive the gifts of the Spirit, it will save us from returning to these dumb idols.

There are more than nine gifts of the Spirit but the prominent among them, as listed in 1 Corinthians 12, are:

1. Visions and dreams
2. Prophecy and tongues
3. Word of knowledge
4. Word of wisdom
5. Discerning of spirits
6. Faith
7. Working of miracles
8. Healing
9. Interpretation of tongues

I want to exhort you today to nurture the desire to have these spiritual gifts. Blessed are those who hunger after righteousness, your hunger will open you up to receive the best gifts. I pray that you shall desire the gifts of the Spirit, especially to prophesy!

Pray that God will endow us with the gifts of the Spirit to maximise our profit!
