[1 Corinthians 12:4-7 KJV] “Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.”
[1 Corinthians 2:4-5 KJV] “And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: that your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.”
Today, I want to exhort you on the need to desire both the manifestation and demonstration of the Spirit. It is important to state that there is a difference between manifestation and demonstration of the Spirit.
The manifestation of the Spirit is the process of the Spirit making Himself manifest to His believers. It is the process by which the Holy Spirit announces His presences by showing Himself in a form that mortal men can comprehend. The Scriptures reveal instances when the Holy Spirit manifest as;
- Both a rushing wind and as cloven tongues of fire on the Day of Pentecost.
- Clouds and smoke on the Mountain of Transfiguration
- A dove at the Jordan River when the Lord was being baptised.
- Fire by night, cloud by day while He led Israel in the wilderness.
The demonstration of the Spirit, however, is the process of showing that He is around; by the means of the effect He has on our body’s. The demonstrations of the Spirit is His effect on us.
- Slaining in the spirit
- Crying and weeping
- Shouting
- Acting terrified
- Struck dumb
- Acting drunk or intoxicated
- Conviction
- Terror
- Quakes
The Scriptures are full of the evidence of the presence of the Spirit of God among His people and I pray that as you walk and worship in His presence, He shall manifest Himself to us. Our prayer is that God will show Himself to us fully and we shall walk in the revelation and knowledge fully.
Nurture the desire and hunger for His presence. May God continue to work among us in Jesus name!
Stay blessed
