1 Timothy 4:13 KJV — Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
We know that readers are leaders and those who want to lead in the house of the Lord must devote themselves to reading the scriptures, the parchments, and writings. The church that reads will lead, but the church that does not read will be misled.
The Bible teaches that God’s word is a lamp unto our feet. The church that reads has the light of God in their hearts to guide their feet. I pray that everyone reading this will devote themselves to reading. I pray that we will become a church that reads, especially the scriptures. May you never grope in darkness! May you find light in His light! May you have His word as light unto your feet!
The Psalmist reveals that until you hide His word in your heart, you will not win against the enemy. May we become a church that both reads and memorizes the word of God. May the coming month mark the beginning of a reading revolution! May we read and read and read until His word makes our teeth white. This is a charge to keep us alive and vibrant!
We may start with the book of John to discover the life of Christ, then Romans to understand the basics of salvation, Ephesians to learn his to live the Christian life, Philippines to be empowered to rejoice even in afflictions, Psalm for practice prayer and praise and meditate, and Proverbs to discover how to live wisely! Whatever it takes let us read. Let the reading campaign begin. It’s a revolution that must happen!
We cannot walk with God when we don’t have the mind of God. Let us begin to read His word to us.
The word of God will do the following four things for you;
- Direct
- Guide
- Illuminate
- And heal our bodies
This is the time to arise and devote yourself to reading.
Today’s Prayer
May the Lord give you understanding and illuminate your mind and heart as you read the scriptures. May you never lack the understanding and the insight to the true meaning of what you read. May the Holy Spirit become your teacher and lead you into all truth.
Amen!
