John 5:1-7 KJV — After this there was a feast of the Jews; and Jesus went up to Jerusalem. [2] Now there is at Jerusalem by the sheep market a pool, which is called in the Hebrew tongue Bethesda, having five porches.
[3] In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. [4] For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had.
[5] And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. [6] When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?
[7] The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.
The time has come for each of us to learn how to survive alone; some people change suddenly, today you are important to them and tomorrow you mean nothing at all; that is real life. You have to learn how to survive alone.
There was a man by the pool of Bethesda, who needed a miracle but was full of complaints. He had been there for years; always complaining about having no one to help. When the Lord found him, he asked one question, just one question. Do you want to be well!
We have stayed at one place for far too long and this is the time to arise and act. This is the time to move forward by grace for God’s glory! You will not die at Bethesda! You will carry your bed and move on. This is the dawn of a new day and a new season!
- Accept the challenge: Accept the challenge to win. Take personal responsibility and take charge. This is the time to agree that you will move forward by grace!
- Set faith goals: Set faith goals based on the anticipated results you desire. Failing to plan is actually planning to fail. This is the time to agree that this is where we are and set goals to move forward!
- Engage prayer and fasting: As you resolve to move forward, remember the journey will not be easy. It will be hard and we know; and the road will be muddy and rough, as the old song says, but we must still get going.
- Enhance your skills: Enhance your skills. When Nebuchadnezzar brought Daniel and his friends to Babylon, he put them in school to be trained. Many children came to Babylon but those who separated themselves to be trained made an impact.
- Start from where you are with what you have: Start from where you are. There is no better time than now! This is the most opportune time to start. Start and keep pushing until we win.
- Keep pushing: Don’t stop. Don’t stop, keep pushing. If you don’t quit, you will win the challenge! God is with you and you will win and win well.
- Stay connected: Only the branch that abides continues to bear fruits. Those who disconnect wither and die. Stay connected and stay blessed!
Amen
