[Daniel 11:32 KJV] “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits”.
I want to speak to you today about the need to remain loyal and true even in the face of contradictory evidence.
Contradictory evidence is when manifestation and claims are pointing in contrary directions. When you claim that you are well and yet the manifestation point otherwise. The book of Daniel in Chapter 11 teaches how the enemy shall arise in the last days and begin to occupy nations and grow in influence. The Bible tells us that he shall occupy great and prosperous places of possession. He will then quickly rise in power and dominion and shall corrupt many.
Who are these people that he shall corrupt? These are the spiritual “gold diggers”! These are the people who won’t mind disregarding their covenant with higher authority when they see seeming advantage on the other side. These are people who will break an oath, a covenant just because they see a promising future on the other side. These are the people he can corrupt. He will corrupt them with flattery.
In these last days, many people are not faithful, they are not loyal, and they cannot be trusted. In these last days many, disloyal and unfaithful people shall arise, but I pray for you that you shall be incorruptible. You will not become disloyal to your covenant.
Listen, in relationships, we all meet hitches; it requires courage and wisdom to fix the hitches and save the relationship. Unfortunately, however, many people leave marriages, jobs, churches, partnerships just because they see a promising future elsewhere. Sometimes, a young man will leave a young lady, because he has seen another person; they find reasons to misbehave; unfortunately, what they follow is often just flattery. Many have regretted switching camps, but they are stuck on the other side.
I pray for us that as we serve the Lord, nothing shall corrupt us. Nothing will cause as to be like Demas, who abandoned his calling and spiritual father because he loved the world and the things of the world. Demas loved the then present world and forsook Apostle Paul. I pray that you shall not fall prey to the flattery and schemes of darkness. I pray that you shall not live by sight, you shall live by faith. You will not be moved by flattery, but rather, by knowledge.
The Bible tells us that though in the last days many shall backslide because the enemy flattered them, those who do know their God — those who have the right knowledge and learn — shall wax strong, be stable, be unmovable, and shall abound in the work of God.
Knowledge, they say, is power. In fact, the knowledge of God is super power. It energises and infuses fresh energy to press on and reach forth. As you keep coming to church, may the Lord make you stable in faith, may you be planted on the house of the Lord by knowledge and not by flattery. From today, you will strive to know the truth, and shall not be impressed with flattery. You shall not be conned! You shall not be deceived! You shall press on and win!
Always remember that when another person is trying to win you over, they say many sweet and flattering things. Let me leave you with an Akan saying, it goes like this; “How people speak when they need a loan is far better than how they speak when they have to repay the loan!” Be wise!
