[Luke 7:19-23 KJV] “And John, calling unto him two of his disciples, sent them to Jesus, saying, ‘Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?'”
“When the men were come unto him, they said, ‘John the Baptist hath sent us unto thee, saying, Art thou he that should come? or look we for another?’ And in that same hour, he cured many of their infirmities and plagues, and of evil spirits; and unto many that were blind, he gave sight.”
“Then Jesus answering said unto them, ‘Go your way, and tell John what things ye have seen and heard; how that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, to the poor the gospel is preached. And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in me.'”
One of the most tragic fates that can befall a person is to be offended in Christ. It is important to state that offense is the opposite of faith or firm belief. If it happened to one of God’s finest men of faith, it can happen to any one of us. It is possible to feel like giving up on your faith in God, but I want to exhort that there is no reason to. We must keep our faith in Christ, as He is the author and the finisher of our faith.
Let me share four simple reasons why it’s important to maintain our faith in Christ.
Faith gives you hope: When you believe in Christ, you have hope for the future. You know that no matter what happens in this life, you have a place in heaven with God. This hope can help you get through difficult times and keep you going when you feel like giving up.
Faith gives you strength: When you trust in Christ, you are given the strength to overcome challenges. You know that God is with you and will never leave you or forsake you. This strength can help you face your fears, live your life with courage, and make a difference in the world.
Faith gives you peace: When you have faith in Christ, you have peace in your heart. You know that God is in control of your life and that everything is going to be okay. This peace can help you relax, sleep better, and enjoy your life.
Faith gives you purpose: When you believe in Christ, you know that your life has a purpose. You are here to love God and love others. This purpose can give your life meaning and direction.
If you are struggling to maintain your faith in Christ, remember these four reasons why it is so important. Faith gives you hope, strength, peace, and purpose. These are all essential ingredients for a happy and fulfilling life.
Stay blessed.
