Luke 11:24-26 KJV — When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out. [25] And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished. [26] Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
I exhort you this morning not to entertain familiar spirits that try to return. The Bible teaches that any spirit that once lived in man will attempt to regain access if they don’t find other places to rest.
Certain truths are clear when you read the text above;
- Spirits can live in persons and they can equally be cast out. You can be possessed by a spirit and you can also be liberated.
- Spirits can also live in dry places where they can find rest. Inasmuch as spirits can live in people, they can also live in places where they can find peace and rest.
- The simple way to be free from demonic possession and harassment is to refuse to entertain familiar spirits. Remember, what the spirits seek is rest, control, and dominion; the only thing you can do to help yourself is to refuse to create a haven for demons.
Remember, a familiar spirit is a spirit that is familiar with you. If the spirit once lived in you, then they know when you sleep, what you do before sleeping, when you wake up, what you enjoy, friends you have, and how you make choices. If a spirit once lived in you, then they are familiar with you; the best gift you can give yourself is to fight every familiar spirit. Don’t entertain them! Don’t give them peace.
If you recognize any bad habits or appetite beginning to form; don’t entertain it. The purpose of their comeback is to team up and destroy you utterly. The Bible says your latter end shall be worse than the former. Spirits that return always do so to utterly destroy you.
I pray that you shall receive strength to resist the repossession of any familiar spirit!
May God encapsulate you with fire and grace! May He defend you against all forms of spiritual aggression!
May your spiritual portals be guarded jealously! May your spiritual gates be secured by the blood of Jesus Christ! May you never open the door to demons again in your life in the name of Jesus Christ!
