[Acts 7:20-30] “In which time Moses was born, and was exceeding fair, and nourished up in his father’s house three months:
(21) And when he was cast out, Pharaoh’s daughter took him up, and nourished him for her own son”.
(22) “And Moses was learned in all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and was mighty in words and in deeds”.
(23) “And when he was full forty years old, it came into his heart to visit his brethren the children of Israel.
(24) And seeing one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and avenged him that was oppressed, and smote the Egyptian:”
(25) “For he supposed his brethren would have understood how that God by his hand would deliver them: but they understood not”.
(26) “And the next day he shewed himself unto them as they strove, and would have set them at one again, saying, Sirs, ye are brethren; why do ye wrong one to another?
(27) But he that did his neighbour wrong thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a ruler and a judge over us?
(28) Wilt thou kill me, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?
(29) Then fled Moses at this saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begat two sons.
(30) And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush”.
I believe that in every generation and time, God raises a man and ministry that can minister to the needs of the time and the people. The challenge, however, is that many end up fighting the man and ministry. There are elements in every church, family, or generation who fight the man and ministry God has prepared to help them.
We understand that God prepared and raised Moses to redeem his people, but the program delayed for 40 years because one greedy stupid fellow maligned and misrepresented the motives of Moses and his ministry. I want to exhort and warn you about allowing people who fight the ministry to be around you. There must arise a generation of men in every dispensation who will fight people who oppose and malign leaders and their motives.
Moses had no intention of becoming a lord over Israel. In fact, he was already their lord, since he was Pharaoh’s grandson. The truth is, sometimes, people incite others against a ministry that was meant to bless you because they want to feel free to fool about and be unruly. You must be smart enough to stand up and say “we will not allow you to speak to our leader or helper this way. There should come a time when we will do the rebuking.
The truth is that when the leader is accused, he cannot defend himself. When the motives of Moses was misrepresented, it weakened his convictions and testimony. There was no way Moses could defend himself because the accusation will always appear to be true.
Stay blessed; I love you!
Oh God I ask for the spirit of humility and understanding. Help me not to fight your servant and the ministry.
God bless you Bishop
