Genesis 15:1-6 KJV — After these things the word of the LORD came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. [2] And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus?
[3] And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. [4] And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir.
[5] And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. [6] And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.
It’s normal to feel overwhelmed and think that the word of God concerning your situation may never happen. It’s normal to feel that delays are denials but that is a lie from the pit of hell. It’s normal to feel like giving up on the dreams and aspirations that you have always held on to, but don’t pack your bags yet. It’s not over until you have won. God has got your back; his word will be fulfilled and you will sing a new song.
If even Abraham, the father of faith felt like giving up, then it’s not too strange if you feel that way sometimes. I am by this publication encouraging you not to pack your bags yet! We are not running away nor departing from what we believed. We know whom we have believed and you know He is willing, able, and faithful to deliver on His promises.
Sometimes, all it takes is yielding, allowing God to:
- Uproot what must be uprooted and dug out and
- Pour upon you what you need in order to be fruitful.
Do you remember the story our Lord Jesus Christ told about the fig tree? The gardener requested for one more year of intensive and tender care. He needed time to dig around the fig tree, and to dung (fertilise) it. God is working on your case and you will soon see His miracle touch.
Don’t pack your bags yet, Eliezer of Damascus shall not inherit you. God will keep His word. Don’t settle for anything less than His promise. Don’t! God will honour His promise and do His work in us!
Great grace is coming and we will enjoy it. Change is coming! Breakthrough is coming! God will show! The struggle is real; the challenges may seem insurmountable but God will help us.
Grace is coming! You will not fail. Don’t give up on the dream and aspirations! Hold on! Hang in! Keep your eyes on the hills! See, help is coming!
Benediction
