Luke 9:1–2 (KJV) – “Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.”
This scripture reveals the heart of God for humanity. Jesus did not only call His disciples; He empowered them with authority to liberate people from oppression, heal the sick, and proclaim the kingdom of God. This shows that God’s desire is not for people to remain bound, broken, or hopeless. His mission is to bring freedom to the oppressed, healing to the sick, and salvation that leads to eternal life. Through Christ, God is still reaching out to restore lives and transform destinies.
Action Steps
As believers, we must embrace this same mission. Carry the message of the kingdom wherever you go. Speak words that bring hope, pray for those who are hurting, and live in a way that points others to Christ. When we share the love and power of God with others, we become instruments through which many are liberated, healed, and empowered for eternal life.
