We have already learned that there are many forces and personalities that influence the outcome of our choices, actions, and decisions. While some of these forces work against us, some are sent to work for us. Some of such personalities sent to work for us and to help us are angels.
These are some of the truths that men like Joshua understood and it transformed their ministry to the people of God. One day, Joshua lifted up his eyes and saw a man and asked a revealing question. This was in the plain of Jericho after Gilgal.
[Joshua 5:13-15 KJV] “And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?”
“And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my Lord unto his servant? And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.”
Joshua knew that there are forces in this life that either work for us or our enemy. He was aware and was ready to deal with any situation.
Why should you access the ministry of angels?
Angels are ministering spirits charged to serve the heirs of salvation. They are sent to minister and assist us.
We must engage angels because they are created and charged to assist and serve us. You may have the Holy Ghost but that is not enough; you may be married but your wife is not enough; you need the assistance of angels too.
Angels are charged to serve or minister to the children of God. They are ministering spirits who are sent to minister to the heirs of salvation, and we are the heirs of salvation. Remember then that angels are sent to minister for the believer but they are agents and messengers, and servants of God. They are sent by God, we cannot call them; we can request for their assistance or service from God
[Hebrews 1:13-14 KJV] “But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool? Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?”
But you must understand that angels are agents, messengers, and servants of God in the rank of apostles and prophets.
- They do not accept worship or sacrifice.
- They are not answerable to men; they are only answerable to God.
- They serve those who keep the testimony of the Lord
Angels do not receive worship; just as apostles and prophets are not supposed to be worshipped. They are our fellow servants, sent to minister to the brethren. No good angel will take worship or sacrifice. Angels serve the Lord because of love and not for rewards or worship. They give all the glory and worship to God.
[Revelation 19:10 KJV] “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”
We have learned they also serve those who have the testimony of Jesus.
One way to activate the ministry of angels is to hold fast to the testimony of Jesus, that He is the only begotten Son of God. This is a new testament teaching.
Angels, being agents and messengers and servants of God, are answerable to God. They are sent to both reveal and execute the will and judgment of God in our lives. Angels serve us because they love and are devoted to God, not to us. They will do what the Lord sent them to do, and not what we tell them to do. The Lord is the one who gives His angels charge; beware of angels that listen and obey you, they may be demons.
[Psalms 91:11 KJV] “For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.”
11 of the things angels will do for you
Angels have several services that they render to the heirs of salvation but are mainly twofold: to reveal and execute the will and judgment of God.
- Angels intercede for us (See Zechariah 1:12)
- Angels bring encouragement and messages (See Acts 27:23-25)
- Angels bring answers to prayer (See Daniel 9:20-27; Acts 12:1-11 – Peter)
- Angels Give directions (See Acts 8:36 – Philip)
- Angels provide protection, deliverance, and defense (See Genesis 16:7; Numbers 20:16)
- Angels bring provision ( See 1 Kings 19:5-7 – Elijah)
- Angels sustain the battle-weary that trust God ( See Matthew 4:11)
- Angels bring instructions (See Acts 10:3 – Cornelius)
- Angels give warnings (See Matthew 2:13 – Joseph)
- Angels execute the will and judgment of God. They protected Eden (See Genesis 3:24) and they brought the judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah ( See Genesis 19:1)
- Angels are dispatched when there is any action that requires very intense strength and might. Like Rolling the stone from the tomb of Jesus. (See Matthew 28:4) fighting battles, and carrying loads and people
How to access angelic ministry
- Fear and submit to the Lord (See Psalm 34:7)
- Pray for them; ask the Father to dispatch them (See Matthew 26:51)
- Align with the Lord ( See Joshua 5:13-15)
- Submit to the authority set over you. Women should show submission in the church because of the angels. The angels of the Lord do not help those who are in rebellion.
- Yield to the will of God. Angels ministered to the Lord in the garden of Gethsemane because He was yield to the will of God.
- Keep the testimony of the Lord
- Acknowledge the presence of angels. You must acknowledge them.
Stay blessed, I love you!
