[1 Samuel 16:7 KJV]“But the Lord said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.”
Introduction
I want to exhort you yo enhance the wells of beauty in you. This is because many people God chose were rejected by men because they did not enhance what God gave them.
You see in life you will be dealing with two categories of persons: spirits and men. The spirits look at the heart but men look on the outward; hence the need to enhance the wells of beauty in you. This is why we must strive to enhance the wells of beauty which I am trusting God to establish in your life.
Whether we like it or not you will have to deal with three forces in life: God, people, and devils. Whenever you enter a place remember, how you will be treated is determined by how God sees you, how men perceive you, and what devils think of you. There is, therefore, the need to learn how to groom for total favour and opportunities.
Whether you like it or not; accept it or not; men will always be men and will look on the outward. God indeed looks at the heart but men look on the outward. This is one truth that many have missed and it has worked against them. I used to think that those who know you know you; but that is a lie. You must learn to present what you want people to see and relate with.
Apostle Paul was surprised when his church did not treat him well because of how he presented himself. I will advise you to groom both in and out. Dear brothers and sister, if you do not present yourself well you will not be treated well. People will pay the price you quote. Apostle Paul suffered for keeping a low profile at a time when he needed to present himself as a chief apostle of Christ. Remember, that your presentation counts a lot.
[2 Corinthians 10:7 KJV] “Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ’s, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ’s, even so are we Christ’s.”
Though the Apostle Paul had chosen to abase himself for the sake of the church; that same church despised him. I am not suggesting that you should be proud, but you must present the right image to the people around you.
I recommend two things:
- Prepare your heart well to be chosen by God
- Groom your body and manners to be honoured by men
Both are important. We cannot leave any to chance. No matter what you do, men will be men and will look on the outward. By the lifting of oil in this service, I pray that God will impute beauty and comeliness on each of us. God has given us wine to gladden our hearts, oil to make our faces shine, and bread to sustain us.
[Psalms 104:15 KJV] “And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart.”
It is the oil that makes a man’s face shine. I pray that as the oil touches you today, your face will shine with splendor and favour. May this oil today beautify you!
It is important to understand that, it is one thing to be anointed with oil, and another thing altogether to beam with beauty. Although Joseph was anointed and graced, when the Pharaoh requested that he interpret his dream, the Bible says they brought him hastily but he shaved and changed his clothes before coming before the Pharaoh.
[Genesis 41:14 KJV] “Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him hastily out of the dungeon: and he shaved himself, and changed his raiment, and came in unto Pharaoh.”
Conclusion
If you want the well of beauty to spring forth from within and show forth, then;
- Learn to be meek; God beautifies the meek with salvation.
- Stand tall; work on your posture. Don’t stand with dropped shoulders.
- Bath, shave, brush your teeth, anoint yourself and change your clothes.
- Dress appropriately for every occasion. Don’t wear prison clothes to address and counsel royalty. Dress the way you want to feel and how you want to be addressed.
- Be grave, humorous, and empathetic; but don’t fool around and giggle. A coyish smile will do when speaking.
- Don’t rush when speaking; talk slowly and clearly. Choose your words well.
- Empower your mind with knowledge. Knowledge has a way of making you look beautiful. Read, learn, listen, watch, etc
I have no doubt the wells of beauty are springing forth in your lives. As we arise to worship and pray, may the Lord desilts the wells of beauty in our lives.
Stay blessed
