[Acts 13:1-3 KJV] “Now there were in the church that was at Antioch certain prophets and teachers; as Barnabas, and Simeon that was called Niger, and Lucius of Cyrene, and Manaen, which had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch, and Saul.”
“As they ministered to the Lord, and fasted, the Holy Ghost said, Separate me Barnabas and Saul for the work whereunto I have called them. And when they had fasted and prayed, and laid their hands on them, they sent them away.“
I have learnt from the Scriptures that from time to time we need to find time and place to abstain from food, exertion, and pleasure to wait upon God in fasting and prayer. The early church from time to time spent time to seek the Lord.
We want to spend the next 21 days to Pray, study the word, fasting, singing and ministering unto the Lord. We sant to buy up time to wait on God.
We want to find time and space to seperate ourselves at evening, morning, and noon to seek the face of the Lord. We are going to seek the face of the Lord and trust Him to stir up the gifts deposited in us by the Presbytery.
Listen, fasting and prayer have been an age long secret to power throughout all the ages and religions.
- John the baptist and his disciples fasted often
- The Pharisee and Sadducee fasted often
- Moslems fast
- Buddhist and Hindus fast
- Every sect fast
The church can not play games anymore; it is time to arise and fast and pray. Fasting is a universal secret to supernatural power.
