Forgive all who trespass against you

Matthew 6:12 KJV — And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

I believe one of the best gifts we can give ourselves is to learn to forgive those who trespass against us. Never give anybody free rent in your mind and heart. Don’t allow anyone to control your emotions and how you feel. There are people whose intention is to manipulate and steal your joy. They deliberately do things to hurt you and manipulate you into submission or pain.

You will do far better in life if you learn to forgive people and move on. If you allow the things people do to affect you so much, it will affect your function and not allow you to advance. Don’t let anyone occupy your mind and heart. Don’t allow people to control how you feel. Sometimes, the people that make us so mad, will be enjoying themselves while you wallow in resentment. Remember, the girl or man that broke your heart is actually enjoying life with their new partner; it is not appropriate for you to be grieving and be bitter all your life. Let it hurt, then let it heal. You will be fine!

Besides the psychological and social benefits, there are many spiritual benefits in learning to forgive. Forgiving all those who trespass against us free us to function. Forgiving those who trespass against us paves the way for us to also access forgiveness. Forgiving those who trespass against us open the door to healing our interpersonal relationship. Sometimes, people genuinely hurt us by mistake. Therefore forgiving helps in repairing those important relationships.

As the saying goes, to err is human but to forgive is divine. May the Lord give us the grace to be able to forgive and let go! May the Lord give us the wisdom, to know who to love from a distance and who to continue to keep close. Sometimes, you forgive but you must love the people from a distance. Mostly, you have forgiven but the offenders have not changed. You must protect your heart and sanity!

Today’s declaration

Lift up your voice and decree! Now! In the name of Jesus Christ I am free from bitterness, offense, and shame! I forgive all who have trespass against me and I am free from hurt. I am healed and free in the name of Jesus Christ!

Amen
