Today, I want to share with you four virtues that are necessary for living. We live in a world of extreme wickedness and evil. In a time when men and women have grown selfish and egocentric, these are the days of senseless wickedness and evil. These are the days when men believe in mob and instant justice. These are days when systems are failing and masses suffer in silence.
“Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord : though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished. By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.” (Proverbs 16:5-6 KJV)
How can we make the world godly again? How can we make society a safe and friendly place to live? We will become better people and walk in a new realm of godliness without pain when we uphold these four great virtues:
-
Humility:
The Bible says that the proud in heart is an abomination to God. The proud are resisted by the Lord. The proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord. The proud cannot inherit grace and mercy. The humble is always exalted by the Lord. The Lord exalts the humble and humiliates the proud. The proud never find forgiveness and pardon. The proud are always punished. When we learn to be humble we will escape punishment.
-
Mercy and truth:
These two virtues go together. By truth and mercy, iniquity is purged. When you admit truth and mercy, your sins shall be purged. It is one thing to be forgiven and another thing to have your iniquity purged. To have your iniquity purged is to have it washed away. You will walk away blameless when you find mercy and truth. In all forms of human relationships, these two virtues are important and key to living.
-
Fear of the Lord:
The Word teaches us that by the fear of the Lord, men depart from iniquity. This is the virtue that helps the effective and godly living. When men and women in relationships fear God, they depart from iniquity. The grace of God is there to compensate for our faults but the fear of the Lord will keep us from iniquity.
May you develop these four virtues! May you walk in the newness of life! May you grow humble! May you never become arrogant! May you walk in the fullness of the fear of the Lord and be blameless!
I love you!
