There are six things that dry up the bones of a man and slows down his ability to advance in life with God’s speed; one of these six is guilty feeling. Inasmuch as the feeling of guilt is necessary, the only purpose it should serve is to lead us to repentance and conversion and nothing more.
[Psalm 51:14] “Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness“.
[2 Corinthians 7:9-10] “Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing. [10] For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.
This Bible scripture is teaching that godly sorrow works repentance to salvation, but the sorrow or guilt of the world works death. Guilt kills you and kills your very life slowly.
If you really want to bounce back to life and live life to the max, then don’t allow guilt to have a better part of you. Whenever you realize that you missed the mark, do all your best to make peace with as many people as your actions have affected, and make peace with God. You must also make peace with yourself and move on.
It is important to understand that guilt will fester if you don’t acknowledge your sins. When you cover up your sins and arrogantly refuse to admit your wrong, guilt begins to eat you up and destroy your conscience. It is important to take correction, criticism, and apologize for every little wrongdoing. That is the first step towards healing and restoration.
I exhort you to get rid of guilt today. Be committed to having a fruitful life. Don’t let a feeling of guilt eat you up. You are God’s free man. The blood of Jesus Christ is sprinkled to purge our conscience from guilt so that we can have boldness towards God. Be bold!
