[2 Timothy 2:19-22 KJV] “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.”
:If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master‘s use, and prepared unto every good work.”
“Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.“
Honestly God can use anyone for His glory. He can work with women and work with men; He has worked with donkeys and ravens; He has in the past used pagans as well as devout men. God is an expert at using and working with anyone who is available BUT in every great house, there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but of wood and of earth; some to honour and some to dishour.
Inasmuch as God can work with anyone; He will not use a vessel of dishonour for works of honour. God will us a donkey for donkey jobs and use a dove for dove jobs. Don’t be fooled, God will never serve His guest food in a chamber pot; God will not serve coffee in an empty can He picked from a dust bin; whatever God will use He prepares. Don’t let anyone fool you!
If you really want to become a vessel of honour, you must do the following;
Purge yourself of dishonourable things
You must purge yourself of things that dishonour. The truth is if you want to serve in minstry and do honourable things in church, then you must be ready to uphold some high godly standards. We must repent tonight and begin to walk in this newness of godliness. It must begin with those of us at the pulpit and flow to the pews. I believe we must choose this day who we will serve.
I know God will make room for our faults and give us grace. He will forgive when we ask and confess but, as I said, He will never serve His guest from a chamber pot. You must get this!
Flee youthful lust
There are strong cravings that drive all youth but you must be striving to run away from the youthful lust. I believe that God is calling us from youthful lust, wickedness and foolishness.
Follow after righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with them that call on God out of a pure heart.
God is waiting to see that we are following after righteousness, faith, charity, and peace with them (in the company of those who call upon God out of a pure heart.
It is true that God can use anything and He can use you; but not when you are deliberately running after filth and shame. At least show that you are striving to resist, not scheming to sin and fool about. You can’t sit down and scheme evil and call it a weakness.
- Let us pray that the Lord shall stir up our cold hearts and set it on fire again. Father we are ready for your holy fire! Our hearts are waiting for you. Send us a revival!
- Let us pray that God will give each of us the grace to walk in holiness; to flee youthful lust and follow after righteousness, charity, faith, and peace! Pray for grace to continue.
- Let us pray that God will heal our backsliding and restore our pure conscience. Father heal our backsliding and restore the quality of our conscience. Lord revive us again!
- Let us pray that God will deliver our wretched souls from this bondage. Father, deliver my wretch soul from bondage in the name of Jesus! Lord restore or church. Save us Lord! Save us!!
