Greater Love Has No Man

For me the most important text in all of the Bible is Today’s Reading. There are many people in life who are afraid of so many things. They seem to be running away from something unknown. In today’s devotional, we are looking at how God was moved by His love for us to offer His ultimate sacrifice to save us.

Today’s Reading 

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16 KJV).

The Bible tells us of a God who loves us – His creation, so much that He gave His only begotten Son as a ransom for us. As I read this text one night, my fears and anxiety began to leave me because I saw the heart of God, who loves me so much that right when I was a sinner, He sent His Son to die in my place and rise again from the dead to give me life.

Where God’s love is, there is no fear, because God’s perfect love takes away fear. It is his punishment that makes a person fear. So his love is not made perfect in the one who has fear.  

We love because God first loved us (1 John. 4:18-19 ERV)

Perfect love cast out my fear and anxiety was cured. How deep is this love, that love that stood in my place at Calvary?

As I stood at Calvary in my mind, I saw the manifestation of love that does not even make sense. I saw the love of God that promises that if He did not withhold His Son from us, He shall by that same Son give us all things that we might ask.

Greater love has no man. When you see this love, your heart will melt. What more can I say as I behold and hold this love in my hands? The love of God to me is Jesus Christ.

When I met Sandra – my wife, I gave her a golden ring as a token of my life, but when God met me, He gave me is only begotten Son as a token of His love. Blessed be the name of God! Oh how deep the love of God is.

Today, I can assure you that greater love has no man, that Jesus Christ should give His life for us all.

Today’s Prayer 

Dear God I thank you for giving your only begotten Son to stand, die and rise up again in my place that I might live. I believe this and I confess His sonship and lordship with my mouth.

Amen!
