[Ephesians 4:1-3 KJV] “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
I want to exhort you on the simple secrets to walk worthy of your calling. Many of the times the world is not responding to the gospel because of those of us who claim to be believers and sympathisers of the gospel. Often, our lives are louder than our message.
You shoot us in the foot by your choices. You stand at the altar and still flirt with the world. You are so unequally yoked with the world that you make her confused. I pray that each of us will make a decision to find healing and live worthy of the calling wherewith we have been called.
The simple tips to heal your life is shown in the text below.
1. Offer yourself as a living sacrifice:
[Romans 12:1 KJVS] “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
Don’t feed the flesh. The cross is the evidence of your readiness to live a healthy Christain life. Anyone who is not ready to die is not ready for healthy Christian living. The cross is the readiness of victory. Without the cross, victory is an illusion. Your willingness to die is the only guarantee to victorious living.
2. Renew your mind:
Don’t conform to the pattern of the world.
[Romans 12:2 KJVS] “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Until your mind is renewed by the truth, you will not be able to live a healthy Christian life. Your mind controls your behaviour, hence the need to renew it. You will live a new life when you learn to renew your mind.
3. Think soberly:
[Romans 12:3 KJV] “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”
Don’t think too highly of yourself. We must understand that we can live healthy lives when we think soberly and interdepend on each other. The Bible tells us that we are members of each other. We depend on each other for full functioning.
4. Beat your body under:
[1 Corinthians 9:27 KJV] “But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.”
Self-control and discipline is the master key. Victory over self and sin does not come by magic but through self-control. Each of us must learn to control him or her self. We must beat our body under to gain mastery over sin and the devil.
5. Live and walk in the Spirit:
That is the surest way to fulfil the will of God and resist the lust of the flesh.
[Galatians 5:17,25-26 KJV] “For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. [25] If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. [26] Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another”.
6. Sanitize your company:
[2 Corinthians 6:14 KJV] “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
[2 Timothy 3:5 KJV] “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
(See also Psalm 1).
Until you you break your ties with unbelievers and turn away from people who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof, you are not ready to live a healthy Christian life.
7. Love not the world:
[1 John 2:15 KJV] “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
[James 4:4 KJV] “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God”
These are the 7 little tips to live a healthy Christian life.
