“He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.” (Luke 13:6-9 KJV)
There are hidden roots behind many of the challenges and failures that people face in life.
In the parable we just read, the Lord explains that the cause of unfruitfulness, poverty, and pain are largely from hidden roots. For maximum productivity we all need a mighty one in our lives which can uproot these hidden roots.
The only mighty one who can deal with these roots and make us fruitful and prosperous again so that we would not perish is Our Lord Jesus Christ. I exhort you therefore to;
- Encounter the truth
- Put your faith in Jesus Christ
- Study the scriptures
- Pray earnestly daily
- Fellowship with the brethren
- Break bread with the brethren
- Follow the ministry to serve and to give
This is how to both discover these evil roots and to deal with them.
The Lord will uproot and crush these evil roots. He will dig around and nourish us with dung so that we would be fruitful and saved from eternal damnation.
May the Lord uproot anything in your life that He did not plant in Jesus’ name.
