1 Kings 13:1-3 KJV — “And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Beth-el: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense. [2] And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men’s bones shall be burnt upon thee.“
[3] “And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.” (Reference 1 Kings 13)
Whether you believe it or not there are altars that receive sacrifices daily to minister ungodliness, wickedness, failure, pain, and shame in lives, families, and communities. There are many altars around us and in our lives ministering death, shame and fear; but I came to announce to you that it is time that we go against such evil altars and break them.
As we know an altar is a place of sacrifice; it’s the meeting point between sacrifice and ministration of oracles. When worshippers put sacrifice on the altar, the spiritual personality being served shows up to grant their petition or request. An altar is the place where worshippers encounter deities. Whether you know or not there are still many altars in your family and community which work against your life and progress. This is the time to go against such altars as the man of God from Judah cried against the altar at Bethel.
Because these altars are evil altars that receive sacrifices and gifts for contrary powers; they work against good and godliness. Mostly those who minister at these altar are witches and wizards who want to control everybody and manipulate results to their advantage and parochial interest.
Remember, the altar at Bethel was built to prevent people from moving to Salem to worship God. All evil altars are built to stop people from serving God. Evil altars are built to promote and perpetuate godlessness and shame. Evil altars are mostly built out of fear, insecurities, and a desire to be feared and be eminent.
Remember, the altar at Bethel was built to prevent people from moving to Salem to worship God.
Today I decree that any evil altar ministered upon in your life, family, workplace, and community to fight against your promotion and prosperity and peace be crashed in the name of Jesus Christ!
Lift up prayer and intercessions for yourself, family, colleagues, and community! Pray that the thunder and lightning of God will strike and rent in pieces every evil altar in the name of Jesus.
Decree that any evil altar in your life, family, community, or in the neighbour’s house ministering bad omen and evil fortunes against you is breaking by fire and by thunder! Say with me “die by fire!” Die by fire!
But before you go after the evil altars, remember that;
- You cannot enjoy the dividends of the altar! You cannot fraternise and join the fellowship at the altar! Dealing with altars requires separation. You cannot cry against an altars and eat food prepared from the sacrifice of that altar. You cannot cry against an altar and go back and fellowship with them. The Lord told the young prophet; greet no man, don’t eat there, don’t drink there; cry against the altar and leave.
- Not everyone that publishes your testimony and report of your exploits is for you. Some are spreading the world to stir trouble for you; be vigilant!
- Early exposure can be injurious to your longevity! He was a young prophet and inexperienced; that is why God wanted him to lie low. Please, don’t be too loud too early. Early exposure may send you or your ministry to an early grave!
- There are people who benefit from the altar; who will FIRST of all fight you for crying against the altar. Expect opposition and confrontation. People and kings will fight you for crying against the altar that brings them great gain. Then when they fail, THEY WILL TRY TO CORRUPT YOU. When an adversary becomes a friend, beware, it might just be a new strategy!
- Not everybody is happy for you; be circumspect! There are old prophets who are threatened by your seeming breakthrough; wise up! It’s not always a great idea to be SOCIALLY COMPLIANT; the majority is not always right, and norms are not always moral. Just because society endorses a thing does not make it right!
- The things that are written are written for our learning. If you disregard divine instructions, you may be eaten by a lion. Don’t be fooled by those who promise to bury your bones; how did they know you will die before them; if they are not planning your death.
Stay blessed
