How can you do war and win by prophecy? And why do many people fail to win by prophecy?
There are two types of prophecies: to foretell and to forthtell. However, all prophecy is given by inspiration to the human spirit. It is, therefore, right to understand that some prophecies may fail in fulfilling because of one or more of the following reasons;
- The prophet may have spoken presumptuously or in error
- Those who received the word did not act appropriately
- We have still not repented or positioned ourselves to receive the word
- We missed the timing and aborted the prophecy
- Some spiritual powers and thrones are fighting the fulfilment of the word
The story of Daniel standing in the gap for the fulfilment of the prophecy by Jeremiah reveals these truths.
I want to share with you a few things you can do to war and win by prophecy, but first of all, take time and read this text.
[Daniel 9:1-8, 20-23 KJV] “In the first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was made king over the realm of the Chaldeans; In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.”
“And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:”
“And I prayed unto the Lord my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments; We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments: Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land. O Lord, righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel, that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against thee. O Lord, to us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our fathers, because we have sinned against thee.”
“And whiles I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Yea, whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time of the evening oblation. And he informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to give thee skill and understanding. At the beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to shew thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and consider the vision.”
Understand the Word
If you want to war and win by prophecy, then the first step is to try and understand the word.
Daniel understood by the books. He took time to read and to understand the prophetic word that was delivered to him. It is important to also note that at the end of the prayer, the angel that was sent to him; was also sent to bring him understanding. Many of us miss our prophetic destiny because we don’t even understand what is revealed.
Repentance
The second step to win by warring is to repent of your sins, your rebellion, and stiffneckness. Daniel stood in prayer and confessed his sins, and the sins of Israel and repented.
Many of us are not seeing the word to be fulfilled because we have not even acknowledged our sins and failings. We just sweep it under the carpet and walk off arrogantly, but in the realms of the spirit, only truth prevails.
You can lie your way out but not before spirits. So the fact that you managed to lie and to outwit men does not mean that you can get away with it in the spirit realm.
Stand and fight
Finally, we must stand our grounds and fight every demonic or satanic spirit that stands to fight the release of answers. There are times when some demonic spirits take interest in curses that are spoken. They strive to fight us with those curses. We must, therefore, lift our voices and deal with every demonic power that has taken a hold of words that are spoken against us to fight our progress.
Remember that as the dew falls from heaven and does not return void; but waters the earth and brings forth increase, so does every word that comes out of the mouth of God. If God said something, then it must happen.
Let us, therefore, arise and do our part. Let us arise and act on the truth. Let us arise and press on to the future. This is our time and season. Let’s work on it. We cannot sleep. Whatever God has said about our word must be fulfilled.
