How can you pray every day? What does it mean to pray without ceasing, and how do you pray until something happens? This post answers these questions and more.
Why you must pray
Prayer is communication with God; the divine stimulus that gives life the drive it needs. Men who don’t pray, faint! They lose steam and the drive for life. Those who pray move from strength to strength.
[Luke 18:1 KJV] “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;”
There are, however, two types of prayer:
Praying without ceasing:
This is the devotional, every morning, noon, and evening type of prayer. This is the prayer that we pray to live and stay alive. This is not a need-driven prayer but a relationship and dependence driven prayer
Praying until something happens:
These are the importunate prayers. This is the Mark 11:23-25 type of prayer. This is the Anna and Simeon and Daniel and Gethesamene type of prayer. This is praying about one thing until it is done. This is a need driven prayer. Praying because there is a need.
How to pray without ceasing
[Matthew 6:9-13 KJV] “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
“Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.”
- Come boldly before the throne of grace know that God is real and exists. He is real and has a name.
- Pray kingdom advancement prayers
- Pray about your needs;
- Daily supplies
- Forgiveness
- Guidance and deliverance from temptations and evil
- Pray and acknowledge that you need help from a higher power; the kingdom, the glory, and the power belongs to God.
How to pray until something happens
[Mark 11:22-26 KJV] “And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.”
“Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.”
The forces that drives need-driven prayer are;
- Desire: How much you want it; how deep you hanger for it.
- Faith: Doubt is a thief and would Rob you of your answers
- Forgiveness: unforgiveness and bitterness will rob you of answers
Stay blessed
