Acts 5:1-6 KJV — But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, [2] and kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
[3] But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? [4] Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.
[5] And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. [6] And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.
Thank God for the strength and grace to be able to deal with your own thoughts with His word. My exhortation for you is to kill evil thoughts! Thoughts that produce evil actions, actions that are contrary to the will of God; thoughts that inspire actions that could possibly injure others; thoughts that lead to sinful actions.
It is important to understand that a thought that is not dealt with will birth an action and that actions may lead to life eternal or death. We must kill thoughts that can produce sin. Though Ananias had the ability to kill the unhealthy thoughts of greed and lies; he allowed it to fester and he eventually died as a result.
The Bible also teaches that as you think in your heart, so are you. A man is his thoughts. You are nothing different from your thoughts. Evil thoughts produce evil men; and good thought patterns produce a better man; diligent thoughts makes a man rich and put him in charge to rule.
Evil thoughts produce evil men, good thoughts produce better men, diligent thoughts make a man rich and put him in charge to rule.

We can, and must kill evil thoughts. Here is how;
- Allow the word of God to unroot and kill every evil seed or word or thought that drops in your mind.
- Be intentional about it. It will not just happen. Thoughts don’t just die; you must put it away and master it. We must be intentional about killing evil thoughts
- Keep the instructions of your pastor in your heart. Meditate upon it day and night. As you meditate on the instructions of scripture, you kill the roots of evil thoughts.
- Be careful what you hear and how you hear. What you hear forms the foundation of what you focus and think of. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
Let us agree to kill evil thoughts. May you receive the grace and discipline to think, meditate and speak the word of God!
Stay blessed
