As harsh as it may sound, I will still want to share one of the most important Kingdom realities with you. I want to teach that, in the kingdom of God the means justifies the end and not the end justifies the means.
To the world, arriving is more important than the journey, but in the kingdom of God, the journey is more important than the destination.
God is more interested in how your arrive, than where you arrive. The Lord Jesus told a parable that explains this;
[Matthew 22:1-14 KJV] “And Jesus answered and spake unto them again by parables, and said, The kingdom of heaven is like unto a certain king, which made a marriage for his son, And sent forth his servants to call them that were bidden to the wedding: and they would not come.”
“Again, he sent forth other servants, saying, Tell them which are bidden, Behold, I have prepared my dinner: my oxen and my fatlings are killed, and all things are ready: come unto the marriage.”
“But they made light of it, and went their ways, one to his farm, another to his merchandise: And the remnant took his servants, and entreated them spitefully, and slew them.”
“But when the king heard thereof, he was wroth: and he sent forth his armies, and destroyed those murderers, and burned up their city. Then saith he to his servants, The wedding is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.”
“Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as ye shall find, bid to the marriage. So those servants went out into the highways, and gathered together all as many as they found, both bad and good: and the wedding was furnished with guests.”
“And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless.”
“Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen”.
This truth is seen in how the king treated the guest that was not in party attire. Although the king was upset with those who made excuses and did not honour the invitation, he was equally upset with the guest who came in by the back door. The means is more important to the Lord than the end. Let us be careful how we arrive. It matters a lot at the end of the day.
That is why Apostle Paul cautioned us to be careful how we build upon the foundation that is laid. The truth is, every man’s works shall be tried by fire. Every man’s works shall be tried. Let us take heed how we build.
[1 Corinthians 3:10-15 KJV] “According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon.”
“But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon. For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble;”
“Every man’s work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man’s work of what sort it is.”
“If any man’s work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
How are you building? Are you building by equity or by deceit? One day, a young woman called me and had the guts to ask for prayer for her boyfriend who is was an internet scammer. The truth is, people, do not fear God anymore. We will do anything to arrive and we care less who we are hurting.
I cannot deceive you, the means will justify the end. It is not just about arriving, let us take heed how we arrive. Pay attention to the journey. This is the kingdom reality.
The Bible says “there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is death.” It is therefore important that as we plan and pray and purpose,
We will do so according to the will of God. We must ask the way and avoid false balances.
We must “not conform to the pattern of the world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.”
We must focus on walking in “the way, the truth, and the life”. We must walk in the way of the Lord and the paths of righteousness.
Remember, we are “His workmanship created in Christ Jesus” to walk in the good works prepared before the foundations of the earth were laid. Let us find and walk in that way.
[Ephesians 2:10 KJV] “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
There is no other foundation any man can lay. None of us can redefine how things must be done. We cannot, and must not establish our righteousness. Let us be careful how we build the things we are building.
What goes around often comes around. Don’t run over heads and shed blood to build a city. The means must justify the end. How we get there matters a lot. It is not so much where we get but how we get there.
Stay blessed
