Witchcraft is real but more real is the power of God to break the hold of witchcraft. We read of how whole cities and towns were held spellbound by wizards and witches. We see how Samaria was literally under the spell of one man until Philip brought the gospel and the power of God. Simon the sorcerer was able to control and subdue a whole city with witchcraft! I pray that anybody controlling your destiny with witchcraft shall lose its hold in the name of Jesus Christ!
Acts 8:9-13 KJV — But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one: [10] to whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.
[11] And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries. [12] But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. [13] Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
We see how Elymas also sought to control Sergius Paulus, the proconsul, with sorcery. There are many destinies that are literally under spell and we break them lose. We liberate your soul and destiny to fully manifest. Receive the touch of His power in the name of Jesus Christ!
Acts 13:6-12 KJV — And when they had gone through the isle unto Paphos, they found a certain sorcerer, a false prophet, a Jew, whose name was Bar-jesus: [7] which was with the deputy of the country, Sergius Paulus, a prudent man; who called for Barnabas and Saul, and desired to hear the word of God.
[8] But Elymas the sorcerer (for so is his name by interpretation) withstood them, seeking to turn away the deputy from the faith. [9] Then Saul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him, [10] and said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord?
[11] And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. [12] Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord.
Below are the simple steps to break the hold of witchcraft;
1. Resolve not to suffer a witch to live
We must detest the craft with a holy passion. We should neither associate nor entertain it in any way. Sometimes we are deceived to join their pagan festivals like Halloween; this empowers the witches and the wizards. Stay away from these demonic practices.
2. Preach Christ and make authoritative declarations
The only power that can break the deception of witchcraft is the gospel of Jesus Christ. Philip was able to liberate a whole city by the power of the gospel. You must get involved in city-wide crusades to weaken the hold of witchcraft and lies on the cities.
3. Working of miracles and signs that judge the demons
Mostly people are forced to turn to dumb idols and witchcraft because of the absence of both the knowledge and manifestation of the power of God. When people experience the original, they will give up on the counterfeit. That is what happened in Samaria; when they saw the real power of God, they turned from the fake power. Join the mission to bring the power of God to the door steps of the city.
4. Bringing divine judgements upon the witches or wizards:
Don’t allow witches and wizards a space to hide. Pray for discernment and expose all their works and deeds. When apostle Paul discerned the operations of Elymas, he rebuked him.
I pray that you decide and join the mission to send the light and the power of God to the cities of the world. Don’t allow evil to thrive in and around you. Expose the unfruitful works of darkness; don’t partake in them.
