Let us go all out for God!

Acts 21:8-14 KJV — And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. [9] And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

[10] And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus. [11] And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

[12] And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. [13] Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. [14] And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

The text above tells the story of a man named Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ who was not just ready to preach but to go all out for God! He was ready to risk all he had and all he was to preach the gospel. This is the spirit that must dwell in the church at this season of our lives!

To go all out for God or any cause is to give yourself wholly to the cause! It’s to actually take the risk that you are going out to stand and be counted. Esther, said stand with me in fasting and prayer while I go to meet the king; if I perish I perish! She was willing to sacrifice everything for what she believed was worth it.

Those who go all out, are

  • Not afraid to fall into the ground and die. We can go all out for God when we lose our fear for death. The fear of death would hold you captive and control you always.
  • Those who go all out are not afraid to start small! Even an Oak starts with an acorn; if we really want to go all out, then we must be willing to start small and never despise the days of small beginnings!
  • Those who go all out are not afraid to fail. Every seed that agrees to fall to the ground, is not afraid to fail. Infact even trees have hopes that even if they cut down, at the scent of water, they will sprout again.
  • Those who go all out are open to all possibilities. The four lepers were ready for whatever the outcome would be; though they counted the cost! Esther was open to all possibilities in meeting the king, even though she knew all possible outcomes and the chances!

Stay blessed
