1 Corinthians 15:12-19 KJV — Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead? [13] But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen:
[14] and if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain. [15] Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we have testified of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead rise not.
[16] For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: [17] and if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. [18] Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. [19] If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
The seed for today is the need to be eternity driven. The Bible teaches clearly that if in this life only that we have hope in Christ, then of all creatures, we are the most miserable. One of the key doctrines of the Christian faith is the resurrection of the dead. Living without eternity in focus is an unfortunate miscarriage of faith and purpose.
Many people have become reckless in this generation because we have forgotten that there is eternal judgement and life after death. I pray that you shall wake up and live your life guided and shaped by the realities of eternity.
To be eternity driven is to act in the now with eternity in perspective. To be eternity driven is to be acting now, in this life and on this earth with eternity in focus. It is important to understand that whatever you do now will have eternal consequences! There is nothing that will go unnoticed.
To be eternity driven is to understand that whatever you do is either a seed or a fruit of another action.
Those who are eternity driven;
- Sacrifice more: They are more selfless and common good driven. Many people have lost the spirit of loyalty and sacrifice because they have forgotten that every action and inaction of men shall be brought into judgement.
- Endure more: Yea! They may be taken for granted by people around them, but they endure more because they know that God cannot forget their labour of love, especially the things they have done for the brethren motivated by love! (See Hebrew 11)
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 KJV — For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. [17] For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; [18] while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- Commit more: They give more, do more and are more genuine.
God bless and sustain your focus on eternity.
Stay blessed
