“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” — Hebrews 9:27 (KJV)
Life is a gift, but it is also a test. Each sunrise reminds us that God has given us another chance to live purposefully.
Yet, beyond the routines, successes, and challenges of daily living lies a sobering reality, one day, we will stand before God.
The Scripture declares that death is not the end; it is an appointment we all must keep, followed by judgment. This truth calls us to live every moment with eternity in view.
To “live today with that day in mind” means to measure our choices not by how they make us feel now, but by how they will matter then.
It means walking in righteousness, loving others sincerely, forgiving freely, and serving faithfully.
It means investing our time, talents, and treasures in what will outlast this world.
Our earthly days are brief, but what we do with them echoes in eternity.
God is not against our success or joy in life, He simply wants them anchored in His eternal purpose.
Every act of obedience, every word of kindness, every sacrifice for His Kingdom will be remembered on that day when we stand before the Righteous Judge.
Let this awareness shape how you live today. Don’t waste your moments; redeem them. Don’t live carelessly; live consciously. For every day is a preparation for that day.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, thank You for reminding me that life on earth is temporary but my eternity is forever.
Help me to live each day with the awareness that I will one day stand before You.
Teach me to walk in obedience, love, and purpose so that my life will bring You glory both now and in eternity. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
