Condemnation is to be spoken off as evil or bad or to be made to suffer for an evil you have done.
[Romans 8:1 KJV] “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit”.
The Bible, however, teaches that there are some secrets to live beyond being spoken of in an evil way or to be made to suffer the repercussions of an evil you have committed. The simple secret to living beyond condemnation and reproach is to do well. Every man wants to live above reproach and condemnation. Even those who do evil lie and do it under the cover of darkness and among others who also share their shame because they want to be approved of and not condemned.
They need to be appreciated and approved of is one of the fundamental and basic needs of man. Every man wants to be appreciated and approved, but one thing is true; if you do what is right, you will be approved. These are the words of the Lord to Cain. So the secret to being approved or accepted is to do well.
[Genesis 4:1-7 KJV] “And Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the Lord . [2] And she again bare his brother Abel. And Abel was a keeper of sheep, but Cain was a tiller of the ground. [3] And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the Lord . [4] And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord had respect unto Abel and to his offering: [5] But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell. [6] And the Lord said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen? [7] If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him”.
According to Romans 8:1, the three simple keys to living beyond condemnation are;
1. Remain in Christ Jesus:
The Bible tells us that in this dispensation of grace, there is no condemnation for those in Christ. This is the first condition or steps to escape condemnation.
2. Walk not after the flesh:
Every one of us has a natural propensity to walk after the flesh and not after the Spirit, but the secret to living above all forms of condemnation is to walk after the Spirit and not after the flesh. The soul of any man is always at the mercy of either the man’s flesh or his Spirit. The flesh is always fighting the Spirit and the Spirit fighting the flesh; the soul only yields to whoever wins this battle. So, the only secret to escape condemnation after you come into Christ is to learn self-control. Until you learn to beat the body under, you will be born again but still in bondage.
3. Walk after the Spirit:
There is no other way to live a life above reproach and condemnation than to walk in the Spirit. The Bible tells us that there is no law against those who bear the fruits of the Spirit.
The only secret and key to living above reproach and condemnation is spirituality. Only a truly spiritual person is able to live above condemnation; (including spiritual, socio-political, and cultural condemnation) against such there is no law. How can you walk after the Spirit? You must know and see Him; know how He leads; and how to follow. You must follow the Holy Spirit.
I pray that you decide to live above condemnation and reproach. No one can force this choice down your throat. If it is not your own decision, any attempt to make you live right and above reproach will backfire. You must make that choice and be ready to stick with it to the end. When you fall away from your first faith, you will fall into condemnation.
There is no way the Holy Spirit can influence us except we have ceded the control of our lives to the authority of Christ. Be blessed!
I love you;
