“Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.” (Proverbs 13:12 KJV)
The Bible teaches that hope defered makes the heart sick but when the desire come true, it is a tree of life. The message teaches that unrelenting disappointment leaves you heartsick, but a sudden good break can turn life around. Ignore the Word and suffer; honour God’s commands and grow rich.
Many things take time to mature and fulfil; so if you want to live a fulfilling achieving life; then;
See and write down what you want to achieve
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tlower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved. And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it.”
“For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not upright in him: but the just shall live by his faith”. (Habakkuk 2:1-4 KJV)
The vision is for a time. It will take time. Ministry does not build in a day. Marriages don’t build in a few years. Many good things worth your time will take time to build; hence the need to act in the most opportune time; but you must make sure that;
- What you are desiring is from God.
- Write it in plain language that inspires action.
- Don’t be in a haste because you see others running; many of them are making mistakes in their haste.
Pray about your desire daily
The Bible says;
“And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God. For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them”. (Mark 11:22-24 KJV)
The Bible teaches that you must pray your desire, believe that you have it, and it shall be yours. It will come to you.
Plan and work on it daily
We know that faith without works is dead. Any teaching that makes God responsible and you have no part to place is fake. We exist to work. Work is not as a result of the fall of man. Work was part of God original pain for man.
“These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, and every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the LORD God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.” (Genesis 2:4-5 KJV)
Geniune faith must have works. And man that has faith and no works is a vain man. Every man of faith is a man of tireless labour.
“But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?” (James 2:20 KJV)
I believe you must do something little about your desire daily. You must be consistent and persist. You must not relent, keep pushing and see the hand of God. Apostle Paul taught that he was who he was by the grace of God, he laboured more than them all.
“For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.” (1 Corinthians 15:9-10 KJV)
I realise that many of us are failing because we are not putting enough effective work. Apostle Paul laboured above them all.
If you know what to do, do it now. If you wait to be ready, you will wait for the best part of life.
