“After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.” (Luke 10:1-3 KJV)
We are on a mission to the marketplace of life. We are God’s agents sent to introduce Jesus Christ to the world, and to win them to Him. We are on a mission to the marketplace of life. The people around us are getting lost. Remember also that many of those who already believe are gradually backsliding. Many are compromising their faith and integrity.
This is the time for us to determine to grow our faith and maintain our righteousness. We must determine to encourage everyone we meet to consider where they would spend eternity. Many are already doing well here on earth. There are many teachers of everyday life but only a few teachers teaching on things of eternal values.
As you step out there, remember we are heralds:
We are tidings bearers. You are out there as a herald to announce the coming of the Lord. We are ambassador; light to the world to shine and give light. The scriptures says “he sent them“. He sent them ahead of Him. Jesus Christ wants to come to our homes and offices to save, heal and empower; but we are the heralds. When we learn to declare His testimony and speak Him into the arena, He will come in and bless the house.
As you step out remember you are part of a team that needs more recruits:
We don’t stand or fight alone. We are part of a family of soul winners. We are to look out for others who are working in the field and wish them godspeed. We must pray for labourers to be sent. We need to pray and pray and pray. Remember to ask for more labourers.
As we step out to the marketplace of life, remember you are sent as lambs among wolves:
We must step out and operate by the key principle of lambs among wolves. There is an inherent danger that we face daily as people of faith. The world and the marketplace of life poses a danger to your faith and your very existence. You must step out there and walk in society as one who knows this inherent danger. We are lambs among wolves; be as wise as serpents.
You will not miss the way. You will win.
