“When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul; Discretion shall preserve thee, understanding shall keep thee:
To deliver thee from the way of the evil man, from the man that speaketh froward things; Who leave the paths of uprightness, to walk in the ways of darkness; Who rejoice to do evil, and delight in the frowardness of the wicked; Whose ways are crooked, and they froward in their paths:
To deliver thee from the strange woman, even from the stranger which flattereth with her words; Which forsaketh the guide of her youth, and forgetteth the covenant of her God. For her house inclineth unto death, and her paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life.
That thou mayest walk in the way of good men, and keep the paths of the righteous. For the upright shall dwell in the land, and the perfect shall remain in it. But the wicked shall be cut off from the earth, and the transgressors shall be rooted out of it.” (Proverbs 2:10-22 KJV)
There are two main dangers every man faces in everyday life;
- Evil men
- Strange women
As we walk about and go about our everyday duties and vocations, we would always encounter these two hurtful dangers. These are dangers that all who desire life should keep away from.
Beware of Evil men!
These are:
- Men that speaketh froward things;
- Men who leave the paths of uprightness to walk in the ways of darkness;
- Men who rejoice to do evil and delight in the frowardness of the wicked;
- Men whose ways are crooked, and are froward in their paths:
They lure and seduce with the booty of their schemes. They will try to get you to accompany them to pursue their wickedness. These shall be cut off soon; avoid them.
Beware of Strange women!
The second category are strange women. These women are;
- Strangers who flatter with their words; they are smooth talkers. The Bible says their words are like hot oil on the back of a labouring man.
- Those which forsake the guide of their youth, these women break covenant. These are women who are divorced from the husband of their youth.
- Those who forgets the covenant of their God. These are backslidden women. They have been in church and speak the language of the religious, yet they have lost their conviction.
You must keep away from these women because their houses inclines unto death, and their paths unto the dead. None that go unto her return again, neither take they hold of the paths of life. A strange woman is a deep pit, once she takes a hold of you, you are finished.
The Keys to Escape.
The simple secrets to be delivered from these two-fold dangers are:
- Let wisdom enter into thine heart,
- Let knowledge be pleasant unto thy soul;
This is the only way that discretion shall preserve you, understanding shall keep thee from evil men and strange women.
