Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.” (Matthew 6:9-13 KJV)
There is more to prayer, the Lord’s prayer, than most of us think. In this devotion, we shall discuss seven benefits of personal prayer.
Great men in history found time to pray but failures had no time to pray. Prayer, personal devotional prayer will make a giant out of any man. You cannot prayer as a lifestyle and end up a failure.
Luke 18:1, exhorts us to always pray and never get tired of praying. Our Lord Jesus Christ Himself is the supreme argument for personal and daily devotional prayer. Mark 1:35, reveal that He woke up early before sunrise and went to a solitary place to pray. He had a habit of prayer, and He prayed as a lifestyle because He knew that daily devotional prayers would produce the following results;
1. A stronger relationship with God:
When you pray say “our father who art in Heaven.” Those who pray daily walk in the awareness that they have a father in heaven. Such an assurance strengthens your faith and emboldens you even in the face of adversity and contrary circumstances.
2. The tangible Presence of God:
Devotional prayers command the presence of God. Praying men live in the domain of God and experience heavenly conditions while walking right here on Earth. We all need to live in the domain of God and enforce His will. This will guarantee the prosperity of God.
3. Command divine providence:
Praying men see the care and guidance of God for us among His creation. When men pray they enjoy providence, natural care from God. As you pray now, may you receive divine care and guidance! May Heaven supply your needs merely because God cares for His creation! Be guided in the name of Jesus Christ!
4. Remission of sin:
Blessed is the man whose sins are forgiven. May your sins be forgiven and remitted as you learn to pray! You cannot pray and carry the burden of sin. Be forgiven and walk in justification.
5. Deliverance and protection of God:
Praying men are exempted from evil. You will be kept safe this year. You will continue to enjoy deliverance from evil. You are marked safe in the name of Jesus Christ!
In all this we need to acknowledge that God owns and rules; the kingdom, the power and the glory belongs to Him.
Today’s Prayer
Dear God, I acknowledge that You rule in the affairs of men; therefore, I pray and ask in the name of Jesus Christ that you shall;
- Forgive and restore me to a fruitful relationship and fellowship with you.
- Let Your presence go with me, and may I enjoy heavenly conditions right here on earth
- Provide for and guide me through this journey of life
I know that you are able to do this. Amen!
I love you
