[Genesis 8:20-22 KJV] “And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake;”
“for the imagination of man’s heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done. While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.“
Under the Law, every sacrifice had an ordinance and law that prescribed it; but both before the law and under grace, there are no laws to satisfy. We must fulfill the threefold provisions of love: a pure heart, a good conscience, and faith unfeigned. (See 1 Timothy 1:3-7)
Every sacrifice under grace must satisfy four laws:
- The law of love: If your sacrifice does not emanate from your love from God, He will not respect it.
- The law of faith: Anything done without faith, is a sin.
- The law of sacrifice and opportunity cost: What can you do with the object of sacrifice if you did not give it to God. This is the real value of your seed.
- The law of a willing mind and obedience: Obedience is better than sacrifice.
Any sacrifice that fails to satisfy the above condition is is not meeting a neccessary condition to move heaven. This is what it took for Noah to command the attention of God. He gave the offering because he loved God, had faith, willing to work diligently, and it cost Noah a great deal. You will not fail, you will excel in the name of Jesus.
Stay blessed
