Overcoming the Master, Mammon

Proverbs 10:22 KJV] “The blessing of the Lord , it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it”.

There is only one way to legitimately make money without sorrows, and that is, by the blessings of the Lord. The blessings of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. When a man is blessed, he walks into abundance. The Bible however teaches us that even though there are many ways to get rich, many of those ways will leave you wounded, trapped, ensnared, and pierced.

[1 Timothy 6:6-12 KJV] “But godliness with contentment is great gain. [7] For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. [8] And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. [9] But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. [10] For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. [11] But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. [12] Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses”.

The Bible tells us that those who want to be rich will fall in temptations, snares, and many foolish and hurtful lusts that drown men in perdition and destruction. On the contrary, however, it is the blessing of the Lord that makes rich and adds no sorrow. Any other means to be rich will lead to sorrows and hurtful lusts. There is a spirit in the world that demands service and worship, just like God, called mammon. But you can dominate the mind of money and make money your slave.

The following secrets will make you dominate mammon;

1. Don’t serve mammon if you want to Honour God;

No man can serve two masters, you will honour one and despise the other. Serve God and money will bow to you. Anybody that serves mammon will despise God and be dominated by money.

[Matthew 6:24 KJV] “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon”.

2. Take no thought of what to eat nor wear, but seek ye first the kingdom and righteousness of God;

And all other things shall be added unto you.

[Matthew 6:25-34 KJV] “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? [26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? [27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? [28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: [29] And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? [31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof”.

3. Be faithful with unholy mammon:

Mammon is a spirit, so when you are not faithful with, it knows and begins to control you. If you start lying and exaggerating for money, you will begin to do heinous things for money.

[Luke 16:9-13 KJV] “And I say unto you, Make to yourselves friends of the mammon of unrighteousness; that, when ye fail, they may receive you into everlasting habitations. [10] He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much. [11] If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches ? [12] And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own? [13] No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon”.

4. Honour the Lord with your substance and the first fruits of thine increase:

And He shall fill thy barns with plenty and thy vats shall burst out with new wine.

[Proverbs 3:9‭-‬10 KJV] “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: [10]  So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine”.

5. Be diligent at work: 

Riches don’t endure forever, but if you look well to thy herds, you will have enough milk to feed your family and maidens.

[Proverbs 27:23-27 KJV] “Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds. [24] For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation? [25] The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered. [26] The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field. [27] And thou shalt have goats’ milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens”.

6. Be liberal with wealth:

The Bible tells us that the liberal soul shall be made fat. Your prosperity and increase is in how much you are willing to give back to society and to the kingdom.

[Proverbs 11:24-26,28 KJV] “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. [25] The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself. [26] He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it . [28] He that trusteth in his riches shall fall: but the righteous shall flourish as a branch”.

Money is a spirit, and I believe we can control and dominant the mind of money. I pray that you never serve money but have money serving you. Be blessed!
