[Romans 13:8-10 KJV] “Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. [9] For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. [10] Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law”.
I believe with all of my heart that lack of love, bitterness, grudge and resentment are key sources to sickness and weaknesses, wickedness and sin. The word God is encouraging us as children of God to owe no man nothing but love. Loving one another is so important in our walk with God.
The Bible tells that;
1. Love is the summary of all the Law:
The Bible says that all the dos and don’ts are summed up in one statement; “love one another”. A fellow that walks in love has fulfilled all the law of God. You don’t need to remember a long list of laws, just love.
2. Love does not work ills:
Love works goodness and righteousness. Love does not work ills. You will not malign or gossip about people you love. Love will always seek good in those we care about. When you walk in love, you will not always seek a reason to walk out of your friendships.
Listen! Friends quarrel; friends hurt each other; but they speak and iron out their differences because they treasure their relationships. When ever you see a friend who will not be entreated, it means the relationship means nothing to them anymore.
Inasmuch as we will do our best to love and not offend, it is near impossible to walk with real people and they will never offend you. Any friend who does not get on your nerves sometimes is fake and not real. We must learn to work on our friendships always. Learn to forgive, learn to talk through offenses, learn to admit wrong, and learn to change for the better.
In all things however, you must owe no man nothing but love. Learn to love people as if you owe them love. Love people as if they have done something for you that you can’t repay.
If you choose to be offended, you will always have a reason to be. Learn to make excuses for people and love them in obedience to God.
3. Owe no man nothing but love, because the root of bitterness defiles many:
Let us be careful of bitterness, its roots defiles. Let us learn to forget and get over things quickly. Love like a child. Don’t be too full of yourself, make room for the mistakes and foolishness of others. Unforgiveness destroys and destroys utterly. Let us learn to forgive. Don’t defile the church and family with your bitterness and unforgiveness.
4. Finally, remember that love will endure forever:
1 Corinthians 13 teaches that whether we prophesy or have knowledge or even faith to move mountains, it shall all cease. There will come a day when there will be no mountains to move; there will be no tongue to interpret, and no need to speak by inspiration or teach knowledge; but there will always be a need to love.
I pray for you that you will owe no man nothing but love. I pray that you will love the brethren like a child. I pray that you will not bear grudge. This is the season to love and forgive as Christ forgave us. Be up! Arise and love. It is the time to pay our indebtedness of love. Be blessed!
