2 Thessalonians 3:1-5 KJV — “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: [2] and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.”
[3] “But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil. [4] And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and will do the things which we command you. [5] And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ“
Sometimes it’s easy when you are serving at a place that you can be seen; it’s not that easy when you work in a place where you can’t easily be seen. We want to spend today praying for the unsung heroes and heroines. We want to stand in the gap!
An unsung hero is a person who has achieved great things or committed acts of bravery or self-sacrifice, yet is not celebrated or recognized. An unsung hero may be someone who acts bravely in battle without notice, or someone who sacrifices himself for the good of the group, without recognition.Https//grammarist.com
We want to pray for missionaries and the gallant men and women who are risking their lives to preach the gospel and spread the word. These men and women are charting uncharted paths and risking their lives for the cause of the kingdom. There is a cause and a reason why these men and women are willing to sacrifice their lives.
We all together are partners and companions with them, working the field of souls. While one is anchored close to home, another labours far away. There are many men and women, unnamed heroes and heroine, we want to honour. I know we can mention the names of the known and famous; but how about the many unknown faces that labour in the field of souls? We want to dedicate today to intercede and pray with them.
I want you to use me as a point of contact and pray for these men and women who are labouring in the missions fields, both home and abroad. I want to exhort many more of you to go labour on; to spend and be spent. It is the way the Master went and we can do no less.
- Pray for us that the word will have its free course and be glorified even as it is with you. Command every blindness on the eye of understanding of hearers to be removed. Pray for the unveiling of the minds of our hearers in the name of Jesus Christ!
- Pray that we may be delivered from wicked and unreasonable men. Decree the safe passage of all missionaries and unsung heroes and heroines. Pray that the Lord will preserve that through wisdom and meekness. May the mighty hand of God keep and sustain them.
- Pray that the Lord will establish and keep all partners and companions from evil. May the Lord preserve the church and partners from evil. May the almighty establish all those who gave and continue to give to missions.
Listen! Continue to labour on; spend and be spent; it’s the way the master went. Keep labouring and pressing on, God will reward you. Men may not celebrate you today but only eternity will reveal the impact of you labour!
Stay blessed.
