Luke 16:24-25, 27-29 KJV — And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
[27] Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: [28] for I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. [29] Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
One day a rich man who lived on the same street with Lazarus, a devout man died and went to hell. He went to hell not because he was rich, nor even a sinner; he went to hell because in his lifetime, he didn’t want to have anything to do with God. That is why in death, he was separated from God. There are many in our families and among our friends who are indifferent to the Christian call; they do not have anything to do with God and have become pertinent!
I exhort you to pray for them. I hope that we will stand in the gap and pray that they will hear the prophets and evangelists that come to them. Hell is ready and awaits those who did not believe the gospel (See John 2:16-18). We must believe the gospel if we really want to escape hell. Those who have passed on with Christ are interceding for us. They are praying that we will not come to hell. Many have missed eternal peace because of unbelief.
This is the time to stand in the gap and pray for the salvation of your father’s house! This is the time to say a prayer for people that are sick in your family and among your friends. This is the day and time. May God send evangelists and prophets to your father’s house. May none miss eternal peace! I pray that you will be that agent of life to your family and friends!
