We have learned that the whole world lies in wickedness, and one major element of wickedness in the world is the people. Among the many stereotypes that the Bible talks about as a prominent character of the last days are wicked and unreasonable men. These are mainly people who do not have the faith; people who hate to see the gospel advance.
[2 Thessalonians 3:1-2 KJV] “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith”.
It is important to remember that we are surrounded by wicked and unreasonable men. Whatever you do; whether you are believing God for a suitor, or you are an employer looking for employees to hire, or you are an employee seeking employment, or you are a serviceman working to protect a nation, or you are a pastor or an aid worker; bear in mind that you are surrounded by and you walk among wicked and unreasonable men.
Our classic example is King Saul. He hated David with a passion simply because David risked his life to step out in faith to fight Goliath when everyone else was afraid to. King Saul hated David with a passion because the women sang David’s praises. King Saul hated David because he got results by stepping out in faith.
What you don’t know is that many of the people around you are not your friends. That is how deep the hatred is. Wickedness is real but we must still step out there and love as Christ loves.
How then can we escape the wickedness in the world?
Pray for one another:
We can escape the wickedness of these last days when we learn to pray for one another. We must pray and believe God to deliver us from wicked and unreasonable men. We must intercede for one another and trust that God will keep us by His mighty hand.
Submit under the grace and fellowship of your pastor:
When you stay under the authority of your pastor’s bishopric, there is a covering that keeps you from the attack of the enemy. One day King Saul sent messengers to arrest David, but the Bible says as they came and saw Samuel standing as appointed, the Spirit of the Lord came upon them and they prophesied.
[1 Samuel 19:20 KJV] “And Saul sent messengers to take David: and when they saw the company of the prophets prophesying, and Samuel standing as appointed over them, the Spirit of God was upon the messengers of Saul, and they also prophesied”.
Your pastor is appointed to stand in away. Allow him to stand, it’s safe for you. Pastors must stand as appointed. Anytime your pastor is not standing as appointed over you, you have broken the covering, and you will become vulnerable. When Aaron refused to stand as appointed and allowed the people to direct him, he made them naked by making a golden calf.
Obey those who watch over you:
It is so important to obey your pastor, it is profitable for you that he watches over you with gladness.
[Hebrews 13:17 KJV] “Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you”.
Don’t grieve your pastor’s heart. Listen, your pastor may not be able to sack you from the church but grieving his heart will work against you in many ways. When you grieve your pastor’s heart, you break the spiritual covering and seal that keeps you. Your pastor must watch over your soul with a warm and glad heart.
Remember that even in the early church, Alexander the Coppersmith became vulnerable because his pastor, Apostle Paul handed him over to Satan, that he may learn not to blaspheme. We must learn to obey and honour our shepherds and pastors.
[1 Timothy 1:18-20 KJV] “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme”.
I pray that as you walk in this revelation, you shall be delivered from the schemes of darkness. The Lord shall keep you safe. I pray that the wicked and the unreasonable men shall not exact upon you. May you escape their schemes. May the Lord terrify any beast intending to kill you.
Remember that even in the valley of the shadows of death, it takes the rod and staff of the Shepherd to keep you going. Obeying your pastor will always protect you from wicked and unreasonable men. The voice of your pastor will always protect and keep you safe.
Stay blessed; I love you!
