Remember that your thoughts are more powerful in influencing the outcome of your life than your prayers. As a man thinks in his heart so is he! When the elders of Israel walked out of promised land looking like grasshoppers in their own eyes, no amount of prayer could change anything for them. As you think in your heart is more important than what you say in prayer.
Whenever you begin to pray remember that there are four elements that must work together and be in sync: the thoughts of your mind, the meditation of your heart, the words of your mouth and the cry of the spirit. All four must be accepted to the Lord!
Psalms 19:13-14 NLT — Keep your servant from deliberate sins! Don’t let them control me. Then I will be free of guilt and innocent of great sin. [14] May the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing to you, O Lord, my rock and my redeemer.
We know that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you can ask or think! Asking and thinking are on the same level.
Prayer venues
- Jesus prayed in solitary places. (See Mark 1:35)
- Jesus Christ prayed in the mountains: Mark 6:46 KJV — And when he had sent them away, he departed into a mountain to pray.
- Jesus Christ prayed in the gardens: We need prayer gardens! John 18:1-2 KJV —When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. [2] And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus ofttimes resorted thither with his disciples.
- Peter prayed on the roof tops: Acts 10:9-10 KJV — On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour: [10] and he became very hungry, and would have eaten: but while they made ready, he fell into a trance,
- Paul prayed along river banks and beaches: Acts 16:13-15 KJV — And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither. [14] And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul. [15] And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
- The church prayed in the upper rooms. (See Acts 2:1-10). The temple and chapel are prayer places. The church meeting place must be one of the places of prayer and inspiring faith.
- Upon your bed or in your closet. The Bible in Matthew 6 recommends the closet as a place of Prayer. Daniel prayed three times every day in his bedroom. Psalm 149:5-9 KJV — Let the saints be joyful in glory: Let them sing aloud upon their beds. [6] Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, And a twoedged sword in their hand; [7] To execute vengeance upon the heathen, And punishments upon the people; [8] To bind their kings with chains, And their nobles with fetters of iron; [9] To execute upon them the judgment written: This honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
