Prayer – maintaining communication with God is about the highest form of worship. In its proper expession, prayer has four parts:
- Prayer – oration, adoration, poetry
- Supplication – strong cryings and tears
- Intercession – standing in the gap between God and others to make up the hedge
- Thanksgiving – showing appreciation and gratitude for even the little mercies
That men should pray everywhere without wrath or doubt is the first priority of God.
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting [1 Timothy 2:1-3, 8 KJV]
To pray is to expess faith in the wisdom, power, faithfulness and presence of God. We call upon people in whom we have vested faith and trust. By praying we show clearly that we have faith in God, especially when we pray about little things. Prayer is our highest form of worship and devotion to God. Don’t let anyone cheat you out of it. People of prayer are people of faith. Those who pray do not loose their faith.

We know that even His house shall be called a house of prayer of all nations. God expects to hear the sound of prayer, of worship, of singing, of supplication, of intercession, and of thankgiving. This is our worship and connection to power. This is God’s expectation of us. He brings us to His holy mountain for this reason. God wants to make us joyful in the house of pray. Prayer is the highest form of woship. God wants us to depend on Him because He cares.
Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people. [Isaiah 56:7 KJV, See also Luke 19:46]
God wants us to pray without ceasing. Men ought to pray always. (See 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Why should you pray?
1. Prayer will sustain your faith and your faith will quicken you to pray:
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth? 2. Prayer is the only alternative to anxiety: (See Philippians 4:6)
3. Prayer with fasting is the only thing that can bring forth certain things:
Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. [Matthew 17:21 KJV]
4. Watching with prayer is your secrets to access strength to overcome temptation: praying men don’t sin and sinning men don’t pray.
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. [Matthew 26:41 KJV]
5. Praying with faith is the key to recieve anything from God:
Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. [James 4:2-3 KJV]
But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways.

As you pray you will breakthrough all odds. You will never fail! God will visit and touch you and change things in your life. You cannot fail if you learn to maintain communication with God.
