We sant to pray for personal and corporate revival. We want to speak to the Lord to revive and resuscitate the things that are dead or dying in our lives because of sin, laziness, and complacency. We want to cry out and tell the Lord that we want a revival!
Remember, every revival begins with;
- Repentance
- Prayer (pursuit of God and His kindom)
- Desire or hunger for a clean heart, God’s presence
- Desire to offer the sacrifice of praise
1. Let us pray that God will have mercy on us, forgive us, and wash us through and thoroughly!
[Psalm 51:1-19 KJV] “Have mercy upon me, O God, according to th lovingkindness: According unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, And cleanse me from my sin.”
“For I acknowledge my transgressions: And my sin is ever before me. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: That thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.”
“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; And in sin did my mother conceive me. Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: And in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.”
“Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Make me to hear joy and gladness; That the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Hide thy face from my sins, And blot out all mine iniquities.”
2. We need a clean heart and a right spirit. Let us pray for a clean heart and the right spirit.
Sometimes, you have a clean heart but a bad spirit. We are praying for the right spirit. Pray that God would renew in us a clean heart and a right spirit.
“Create in me a clean heart, O God; And renew a right spirit within me.”
3. Let us pray that the Lord will pour upon us one more time His Holy Spirit and stir up his presence.
If there is one thing need for a revival, it is the presence and person of the Holy Spirit. We need the presence of God and the Holy Spirit in our lives.
“Cast me not away from thy presence; And take not thy holy spirit from me.”
We can only become effective with our invitations and evangelism when we have the joy of His salvation and sustained by a free spirit. It is said that there is nothing as comfortable as a clear conscience. May the Lord sustain His church with a clear conscience!
4. Pray that the Lord will restore unto us the joy of His salvation and to uphold each of us with a free spirit.
“Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; And uphold me with thy free spirit. Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; And sinners shall be converted unto thee.”
5. Deliver me from blood guiltiness so that I can offer the sacrifice of praise which is the fruit of the lips
Sometimes many of us are ashamed to worship and praise God; and rightly so, we should be ashamed because we have done shameful things. But if the Lord deliver us from blood guiltiness, we can come before Him with singing.
“Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: And my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. O Lord, open thou my lips; And my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.”
“For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: Thou delightest not in burnt offering. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: A broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
“Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: Build thou the walls of Jerusalem. Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: Then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.”
Stay blessed
