I want to exhort you today on the need to pray for the nations. We are called to stand in the gap between God and the land. We are called to be intercessors; to make up the hedge between God and the land. In praying for the nations we must understand what the nations’ needs;
- Repentance
- Peace
- Social justice and equity
- Prosperity
Many nations will not advance and develop until Zaccheus repents. Until civil servants entrusted with law enforcement have an encounter with Jesus that leads to change, there will not be equity or peace. Until Zacccheus repented, the poor did not have equity. I pray for the nations of the world that the people given the power to enforce law and order will have an encounter with Jesus that would transform their perspectives on life. Without equity and social justice, there cannot be world peace.
We should commit ourselves to world peace because we can serve God when there is peace in the world. We need world peace, but the devil’s strategy is to cause commotion in the world so that the church cannot thrive and prosper. We need to appeal to Heaven to bring peace on earth, so that we can serve our God in peace.
Social justice and equity are foundations to prosperity. I believe we should be able to create a society that gives people what compensates for their disadvantages. We should pray that the rights of marginalised and minority groups will be protected. I pray that senseless killing of people around the world because of racial and tribal prejudices shall cease. May the Lord heal and sustain the nations of the world.
I pray that nations shall prosper and we will have the peace of mind to serve God. I pray that the strategy of the devil to cause commotion in the earth will be prevented and that we shall see some peace in the earth.
I love youPastor
