[Matthew 28:19-20 KJV] “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
We have a commission and an assignment from God to go into all the world and preach the good news. It is our calling and commission; and we must run with it but how? One of the first steps towards world missions is to pray!
[1 Timothy 2:1-2, 4 KJV] “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; for kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.“
Prayer is the first step towards missions.
- Thank God for counting you faithful and putting you in ministry
[1 Timothy 1:12 KJV] “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”
- Pray that God will send more labourers into the vineyard yard
[Luke 10:2 KJV] “Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.”
- Pray that the word of God will have its free cause and be honoured
[2 Thessalonians 3:1 KJV] “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:”
- Pray that God will deliver us from wicked and unreasonable men
[2 Thessalonians 3:2 KJV] “and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.“
- Pray that the Lord will stretch his hand and heal the sick, liberate the oppressed, and empower the weak.
[Acts 4:29-30 KJV] “And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, by stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.“
