“And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.” (Genesis 2:22 KJV)
Many of us have been trusting God to know His will concerning a life partner. Most of us want to please God when it comes to choosing and committing to a partner.
In this study, I am trusting God to reveal to us the man He is likely to recommend for His daughter. What qualities suggest that a man could be God’s choice for a Christian sister?
God created and brought Eve to a man; who is this man? Who is Adam? What things made God willing to trust Adam to take care of Eve as his bride and wife?
The man God gave a wife to had the following characteristics;
1. He was created in His image and likeness: (See Roman 8:28-31) we are predestined under the new covenant to conform to the image of the dear Son of God. The man God could recommend to any Christian sister who is ready for marriage must be recreated in the image and likeness of the son of God. The gentleman must look like and behave like God; ruling in the affairs of His creation. A man dressed and appearing and behaving like the world and the devil cannot be God’s option.
2. He was blessed to be fruitful, multiply, fill and replenish the earth: Adam was blessed to be fruitful, multiply, fill and replenish the earth. The man, God’s recommendation must be blessed enough to be fruitful and to fill a bowl with rice.
3. He had a home in Eden: God’s recommendation has a home in Eden. He must have a home and that home must reflect and have the scent of Eden, not a ghetto. The home must reflect the presence of God.
4. He was a cultivator: The man had an assignment to till, cultivate and grow what was given to him. God’s choice will work on you. Relating with a man after God’s heart will add value to you. If a man cannot add value to himself, how can he add value to you. The man God give you to will cherish and nourish you. You will never be deceived in your selection of a life partner! May the Lord show you to a builder!
5. He knew the voice and the mind of God: God’s choice will alway be a man who knows the voice and mind of God. Adam knew the mind and voice of God. He called things what God would call them. Does the man you’re considering know the difference between cohabiting and marriage.
6. He was a steward: God’s choice lives as a steward; working for and acknowledging God. When Adam had a son, he said “I have gotten a man from God”. Adam knew he was a steward. God’s choice will be the man living as a steward.
May the Lord show you to a good man! May He deliver you from every evil man in the name of Jesus Christ!
