[Isaiah 32:9-20 KJV] “Rise up, ye women that are at ease; hear my voice, ye careless daughters; give ear unto my speech. Many days and years shall ye be troubled, ye careless women: for the vintage shall fail, the gathering shall not come.”
“Tremble, ye women that are at ease; be troubled, ye careless ones: strip you, and make you bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins. They shall lament for the teats, for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine.”
“Upon the land of my people shall come up thorns and briers; yea, upon all the houses of joy in the joyous city: because the palaces shall be forsaken; the multitude of the city shall be left; the forts and towers shall be for dens for ever, a joy of wild asses, a pasture of flocks; until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest. Then judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and righteousness remain in the fruitful field.”
“And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places; when it shall hail, coming down on the forest; and the city shall be low in a low place. Blessed are ye that sow beside all waters, that send forth thither the feet of the ox and the ass.“
In Isaiah 32, we are informed that the land shall lay waste; and the palaces shall be vacant if the spirit is not poured upon the land. Check verse 15! The opening statement in the verse 9 speaks volumes. The prophet send a clarion call to the women of Zion to rise up and pay attention to the call to rekindle the power that brings fruitfulness.
The prophet Isaiah stated emphatically that until the spirit be pour, the wilderness can not be a fruitful field nor the fruitful field a forest. It is the outpouring and presence of the spirit that brings fruitfulness. The power that brings fruitfulness is the power of the Holy Ghost. The spirit of the Lord is the spirit of fruitfulness. This is the time and the month to arise as a church to rekindle the spirit that brings fruitfulness.
Acts 13:1-5 teaches us the keys to rekindle the spirit that brings fruitfulness:
- Prayer and fasting
- Ministering to the Lord
- Paying attention to th voice of the spirit
The bible teaches that certain apostles and prophets and teachers gather together to pray and fasts and minister to the Lord; then the spirit was poured. That was the birthing place of missions to the gentiles. As we wait upon the Lord in this season, God will rekindle the power that brings growth and we shall grow!
Prayer points
- Thank God for the promise of the Holy Spirit. Let’s us sing about the grace of the Spirit.
- Pray that as we gather, his Spirit will be poured upon and into us. Pray for a fresh outpouring!
- Pray that the power of God will be rekindled in us and work through us.
- Pray for the generous distribution of the gifts of the Holy Ghost upon us now. In the name of Jesus Christ!
